GENERAL INFORMATION
I escorted my first group to China in August, 1975, and have been back 46 times since. Its a combination of the history, diversity and friendliness of the people, magnificent scenery, cuisine, various cultures, and modern development that keep me coming back for more. The friendliness of the people and expertise of the guides makes touring China a most rewarding experience.

Cruising the YANGTSE is a fabulous experience of scenery, service, and relaxation and we use the top cruise company on the river - the 5 star Victoria cruises. All cabins have private shower and toilet, private balcony to relax and watch the scenery go by as well as extensive upper deck viewing areas, and superb crew. A major development in 2003 was the completion of the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtse River. The total project will not be completed until 2009. All our cruises now use the 5 lock system to bring the ship to the new level behind the dam. A visit to the information centre is included on all tours and now it is often possible to go onto the dam itself. The experience of cruising the Yangtse has not been diminished in any way. In fact we are now able to venture further up the Shennong Stream and Daning River on our small boat excursion to see even more amazing scenery. TIBET AND NEPAL
I escorted my first tour across Tibet to Nepal in 1984 and am delighted to now offer our TIBET AND NEPAL tour (Part of our Majestic China tour) including the new Lhasa train service. Departing Auckland on the 5th October, 2010 we will fly to Beijing, then on to Xian where we join the TRAIN TO LHASA and drive across the roof of the world to Nepal, including a visit to Everest base camp. Nepal is another of my favourite countries and the signing of the new peace treaty within the country enables us to offer this beautiful country in comfort and confidence. INDEPENDENT LOCALLY HOSTED TRAVEL
We are happy to operate independent itineraries for you with daily departures to your itinerary (minimum 2 passengers required). One english speaking local guide will be attached to you in each city and look after your transfers, check in and out, sightseeing, and tickets to the next city. It is more expensive but you get to see what you want to see, at the pace at which you want to travel.
